Shotstack provides two distinct environments: Sandbox for testing (free, watermark included) and Production for your final, live renders.
In the Legacy Dashboard, you can easily toggle between these environments to manage different sets of templates and view your render history.
How to Switch Environments
To change your current environment, follow these steps:
Navigate to API Keys: On the left-hand sidebar menu, click on the API Keys tab.
Locate the Environment Dropdown: Scroll down to the ENVIRONMENT section at the bottom of the page.
Select Your Environment: Click the dropdown menu and choose either Sandbox or Production.
Confirm the Change: Once selected, the dashboard will refresh. You can confirm which environment you are in by checking the badge (e.g., "SANDBOX" or "PRODUCTION") at the top center of the page.
What Changes When You Switch?
When you toggle between environments, the following sections of your dashboard will update to reflect the data for that specific environment:
My Templates: You will see the templates specific to the selected environment.
My Renders: Your render history will refresh to show only the jobs processed in that environment.
Note: Sandbox renders are free of charge but will include a Shotstack watermark. Production renders use your paid credits and are watermark-free.
