Here is a complete guide on how to delete your assets and free up storage space through the Shotstack V2 Dashboard.
1. Deleting Individual Renders (Output Files)
When you render a video or image, by default the final output is hosted on the Shotstack CDN.
Deleting the render from your history does not automatically delete the hosted file; you must delete the asset itself.
Navigate to the My Renders tab in your dashboard.
Click on a specific render to open its details view.
On the right-hand side of the screen, click on the Outputs tab.
Locate the CDN link and click the trash can icon next to it.
A confirmation modal titled "Delete CDN asset?" will appear, warning you that this action frees storage but cannot be undone. Click Delete to confirm.
2. Deleting Individual Uploads (Source Files)
If you upload source files directly to the dashboard or via the Ingest API, these files also count against your storage limit.
Navigate to the My Uploads tab in your dashboard.
Find the file you wish to remove and click the trash can icon on the right side of the row.
A "Delete file?" confirmation modal will appear. Click Delete to permanently remove the source file and free up space.
3. Bulk Deleting Hosted Files
If you have a large number of renders and need to clear your CDN storage quickly, you can bulk delete all hosted output files at once.
Go to your main Dashboard.
Look for the Storage module on the right side and click the Free up storage... link.
This will open the Manage Storage window.
Select the Delete all hosted files option and click the Delete all files... button. This will permanently delete all hosted files in bulk, which is an irreversible action.
