Behind the scenes, the AI handles the heavy lifting by automatically uploading assets, arranging timeline tracks, setting resolutions, and formatting your styles and positioning instantly.

How Director Usage and Billing Works
Paid Monthly Plans: Active subscribers receive a dedicated monthly pool of AI conversations to use with Director.
Free Trial & Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG): If you are on a free trial or a PAYG top-up plan, you get a limited number of free test conversations. Once those are used up, you will need to upgrade to a monthly paid plan to keep using the tool.
AI Credits vs. Render Credits: Your Director AI usage is completely separate from your standard account render credits. Using Director to build or edit your timeline will not count against your rendering limits or drain your video generation credit balance.
How AI Models Affect Your Limits: Director tracks usage by "conversations" (prompt exchanges). Your limit depends entirely on the AI model you select in the editor panel. Selecting a premium, more powerful model will use up your allowed prompt limits faster, while choosing a lighter, highly efficient model will stretch your limit further.
We highly recommend testing different models to find the perfect balance for your workflow.
